CHARLES ON MADOFF SCAM LIST
Charles has been named in US documents

PRINCE Charles was among senior royals targeted in the world's biggest fraud, it emerged yesterday.
The heir to the throne was asked to invest in a hedge fund that supplied cash to Bernard Madoff, the disgraced Wall Street broker charged with a £34billion fraud involving some of the world's richest people.
US authorities have been told that Charles nearly became a victim of the alleged scam.
They are investigating claims that Madoff operated a giant pyramid scheme paying investors abnormally high returns with funds generated from new investors.
It is said that Charles had a lucky escape after turning down the opportunity to make a fast buck when he was approached to invest in the Access International hedge fund by his friend Prince Michael of Yugoslavia who appears to have been unwittingly used by Madoff to draw in wealthy investors.
Charles is named alongside European royalty and aristocracy in documents filed by whistleblower Harry Markopolos with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
"It is my belief that Access likely had several royal families as clients invested in Madoff, " Mr Markopolos said.
Among those who did lose large sums of money are Hollywood film producer Steven Spielberg, actors Kevin Bacon and John Malkovich, and CNN interviewer Larry King, Other victims named in official documents are the world's richest woman - L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt - and in Britain, Lady Victoria de Rothschild, the former wife of British banking scion Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.
