Madoff scandal touches at least two S.D. trusts
The Palmer Family Trust, held by Great Western Bank in Watertown, and the Duncan Macmillan 1969 Trust, held by Way Trust Trustee in Sioux Falls, are on Madoff's client list, which was released this week. But privacy rules make it nearly impossible to obtain information on those trusts.
Greg Blow, manager of the trust department at Great Western Bank in Watertown, said he could provide no information on the Palmer Family Trust, including how its investments were managed and who managed them.
When Way Trust Trustee in Sioux Falls was contacted by the Argus Leader, a woman at the office refused to comment on the trust or its connection to Madoff.
The scope of the alleged fraud is detailed on a 162-page list. An analysis of the list shows that it includes people from 44 states and at least 40 countries.
